As humans evolve and discoveries, as well as inventions, are made, humans have also sorted out new ways to combat a long-time enemy that has plagued man from the beginning. As the famous poem the panic of growing older by Lenrie Peters portrays, man has feared aging. They have watched their youth disappear and have sort for different ways to stop the wrinkles that time have bestowed on them, while many have in one way or another become insecure about their look and have wished for ways to change them for themselves. As the centuries evolves, scientists have found that plastic surgery was a good means to attain their goals. They had come up with different procedures such as Botox, facelifts, liposuction, fillers, injections, etc. Although at the beginning plastic surgery felt like a great weapon for scientists in the war against aging and man’s insecurity, sooner than later, the consequences of such procedures proved to be very fatal. Many had lost themselves, in their new look and had wasted money to go back to how they were but couldn’t, many had taken to plastic surgery but had ended up hating the result, and sadly many had lost their lives. This article will introduce you to five Celebrities that had gone under the knife and ended up regretting it.



Courtney Cox was born on June 15, 1964, into the family of Richard Lewis Cox in Birmingham Alabama. After graduating from Mountain Brook High School, Courtney left for Mount Vernon College to study architecture, but didn’t complete her course. Instead, she opted to pursue a career in modeling and acting, and that was how she was sucked into the world of glitz and glamour. She gained International recognition for her role as Monica Geller, in the sitcom “Friends” for which she received the SEVEN SCREEN ACTORS AWARDS. And that was just the beginning of her achievement. But still, Courtney was stuck in her head. New stars are unveiled every day in Hollywood. Young actors and actresses are introduced, leaving the old and wrinkled actors to fight for scraps. And this is Hollywood where no one is allowed to look anything less than perfect. Courtney’s insecurities got the better of her. She underwent various procedures such as fillers, Botox, a facelift, and several injections around the cheeks, lips, and eyes, and these procedures almost ruined her. Courtney had since expressed her regret for all the treatment she had done. And in 2017, she had all her fillers dissolved.



Janice Dickson was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Jennie Marie and Ray Dickson. She was raised in Hollywood Florida with her elder sister Alexis, and her younger sister Debbie who like her also became a model. As a child and teenager, Janice was abused by her father. At the time, Ray Dickson sexually abused one of Janice’s sisters, and he would verbally and physically abuse her daily, especially when she refused him sex. He would say to her that “she looked like a boy and wouldn’t amount anything”. Even though she at first never paid mind to her father, as she grew up and receive tons of rejection in modeling, she began to conceive such notions. After winning MISS HIGH FASHION MODEL and moving to New York City, she was continually rejected by studios, agents, and various fashion homes. It was a time when front covers were dominated by blonde hair beauties. Nobody wanted a red-haired and decent-looking girl.  and they were quite verbal about it. Making her feel even more worthless. Even the famous Eileen Ford rejected her. In his own words, he said “You are much too ethnic…you wouldn’t work”. It was one of the biggest blows she had ever received in her modeling career. But later she was discovered by the fashion photographer, Jacques Siberstan and eventually became the first supermodel., earning more than $2000 per day. But that wasn’t without some work on herself. By the time she became a supermodel, she had become addicted to plastic surgeries. In her interview, she asserted that there wasn’t any plastic surgery procedure that she hadn’t done. Even when she would openly reject the act as she did with the nose job she had, her addiction and her insecurities always pulled her back. But that ended in March 2016 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She shared her story on live TV with Samantha Harris about how she later found out about her illness. She said after an urgent mammogram and biopsy, her doctors broke the heart reaching news to her. The doctors went on to say that it was challenging for them to detect the abnormalities due to her breast implants. Dickson explained how it affected her relationship with her fiance. “We’ve got a bigger fight to fight…if it weren’t for the love and compassion and the strain of my fiance, Rocky has been my Rock. I don’t know if I were a man I don’t know if I could put up with everything that I’m going through. Samantha Harris advised Janice on how to deal with breast cancer since she is a survivor. In reply, Janice expressed her regrets and also advised viewers against plastic surgery. In her own words, she said. ” If I had to play my life over again, I would have never gotten any implants whatsoever in the first place”.



Linda was born on May 10, 1965, to a Catholic Italian family, called the Evangelista. When she was only 12 years of age, Linda was enrolled in a modeling school, where she was thought the basics of modeling and the thrills that comes with it. She attended Denis Moris Catholic High School, and in 1981, she took part in the Miss Teen Niagara beauty pageant. Although she didn’t win, she was spotted by a representative from Elite Model Management. There her modeling career started and as fate would have it, she came to achieve so much in the industry. In 1988, the “Linda Cut” was named after her,  and she was at that time, one of the five supermodels known. She has been featured on over 700 magazine covers, and is known for coining the phrase, “We don’t wake up for less than $10000 a day. But from 2016 to 2021, this OG supermodel wasn’t seen in public. She appeared later on the 23rd of September 2021, where she explained why. She stated that she underwent cool sculpting, a procedure which she says left her “unrecognizable,” as the procedure allegedly caused fat cells in her face to multiply. In an Instagram post, Linda explained. “To my followers who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers’ careers have been thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by…[a procedure], which did the opposite of what I was promised”. She went on with the consequences of the procedure. “Not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depth of self-loathing. In the process I have become a recluse”. In addition she said. ” I’m so tired of living this way. I would like to walk out my door with my head held high despite not looking like myself any longer”. Linda’s example has continued to serve as a warning to people interested in modifying their looks or fighting age through plastic surgery.



Sharon Rachael Levy was born on 9 October 1952, into the family of the music promoter and entrepreneur Don Arden. Sharon became Internationally known after reviving her husband’s career in heavy metal. And in 2003 Sharon hosted her television show, the Sharon Osbourne Show which premiered on “Sky One” UK’s number one channel, among various others. But despite her influence in the TV world, Sharon let her insecurities about how she looked push her into undergoing a facelift surgery that almost ruined her. She said. “I had a full facelift done in October and I looked like one of those f–king mummies that they wrap”. She continued by telling the Sunday Times about back in April 2022 her experience. “It hurts like hell. You have no idea, I looked like a f–king cyclops. I’m like all I needed is a hunchback”. Even her husband was repulsed by the result of the plastic surgery. Sharon revealed that immediately after Ozzy Osbourne saw the result, he assured her ” I don’t care how much it costs we’ll get it redone”. Fortunately for Sharon Osbourne, she was among the few that carried out reconstruction and was successful.



Chethana was born on 26 June 2000, into the family of Varadaraju and his wife Munilakshmi. Chethana was mostly known for her role in the TV series Geetha back in 2020, and Doresaani in 2021 among other movies. She was a strong influencer and social media personality and her career had just begun thriving, when on May 16th,2022, she walked into Dr. Shetty’s Cosmetic surgery center for a weight loss procedure. Unfortunately for the actress, she developed complications as fluid began to accumulate in her lungs. She died on  16th May 2022. She was only 21 years old.


Experience has proved to be an effective teacher, but its scars can never be erased. But learning consciously, through wisdom, is a gift. For some like Sharon Osbourne, the damage could be retracted. But for a lot more, the result of plastic surgery is everlasting. It is then advised that young ones as well as elderly people must think about the outcome and deeply scrutinize themselves, and think of the result or better still, follow the loving advice of Cardi B, “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like ‘OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my ass,’ so you result to ass shots, DON’T!”.
